Chateau Saint Martin De La Garrigue Bronzinelle Rouge 2019 (750ml)

Syrah 37%, Mourvèdre 33%, Grenache 18 %, Carignan 12%

East-facing slopes, summer drought tempered by sea breezes. Broken up, stony, limestone conglomerates disintegrated and sandy gravel brown soil on red sandstone.

Each variety is harvested and fermented separately. Syrah and Carignan with whole cluster fermentation to preserve berries intact. Mourvèdre and Grenache are destemmed. The components are blended at the end of fermentation then aged 12 to 15 months in 2nd to 5th fill barrels.

Tasting Notes:
“A well-balanced, charming and peppery blend of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache Noir. On the nose it shows aromas of currants, wild herbs and baking spices with some incense. It's medium- to full-bodied with creamy tannins and texture. Dense, generous and well rounded, with a fruity finish”.

Food Pairing:
Pays homage to lamb in any shape or form. Goes well with good cuts of grilled meat, grilled or stuffed vegetables and well garnished cheese boards.

About Chateau Saint Martin de la Garrigue:
This is estate is one of the gems of Languedoc. Easily in the top 10 most beautiful estates and wines that are equally sought after, this estate actually used to be one of my competitors within the Kermit Lynch portfolio. They were a similar size, similar prices from the same region doing sustainable farming. Then in 2015, I learned that the estate and Kermit Lynch decided to part ways. It would only be 3 years later when they found out that I was in the process of putting together a group of producers to work with in export markets that they asked me to help them re-establish their American market. Gilles Habit, the resident vigneron for 20+ years, continues to apply his "savoir-faire" to craft these stunning cuvees and we have built a foundational partnership. What an honor and great challenge to work with such a top level estate!
